The two-week workshop aims to promote better knowledge and understanding of sustainable production in the leather processing industry and in sustainable technologies. An additional objective is to enhance interaction and exchange of professional ideas and experiences among participants from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Lesotho, Malawi, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, and Zimbabwe.

The participants will have an opportunity to participate in the XXXII IULTCS World Congress held in Istanbul (May 29-31) and establish closer contacts and cooperation with IULTCS. Moreover, they would learn about the problems and issues related to planning, design, financing, and implementation in the recently established Bursa Leather Industrial Zone with state of the art Central effluent Treatment Plant.
