Working with local retail design experts, Resolution Interiors, Pittards have created an impressive new introduction to the building and their brand. There is also a temptation-filled display of finished goods that meet a previously unsatisfied demand by visitors to the factory to buy Pittards’ products.
There is a wide array of finished goods from gloves to garments, via handbags, homeware and accessories; some from Pittards’ own brand customers, some from local and International manufacturers. There will also be space for the public to peruse and purchase many of the individual leathers that Pittards make, in the form of full skins and pieces for craft working.
‘We wanted to provide a quality retail feel to the selling area whilst at the same time meeting our other business needs’ commented Richard Anderson who has co-ordinated the Pittards team working on the retail project. ‘At the same time we were delighted to be able to work with another local organisation in realising our ideas – of necessity working to a tight timeframe and controlled budget: There has been discussion about trying to satisfy visitor demand to buy our products for some time and having started in a small way a few months ago we recognised that the time was right to get more serious in our approach.’
Pittards expects to broaden the product offering in response to customer demand over the coming months. The new retail outlet will be open from 10am to 4.30pm Monday-Friday and Saturday opening from 10am to 4pm will commence on May 17.
Pittards’ retail venture
Local co-operation has been helping Pittards' retail venture gather momentum. In something that is rather more glamorous than the 'Factory Shop' that the exterior signage claims, Pittards have remodelled a significant part of their reception and some ground floor office accommodation to create a suitable environment for the sale of finished leather products manufactured from many of the Company's own high quality leathers.
