Among those signing on to the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Roadmap to Zero Programme are Eurofins, Hermes Hansecontrol Group and Testex.
They join a further 100 firms that have already signed up for the scheme, which aims to regulate the use and discharge of substances, as well as promote better chemistry practices to protect consumers and the environment. ZDHC works to eliminate the use of hazardous chemicals in textile, leather, and footwear production.
Among the latest signatories is Italian textiles company Albini Group, which produces high-quality shirting fabrics with a strong ‘Made in Italy’ emphasis. It is joined by CIEL Textile, a world-class global player in textile and garments operations, spanning Mauritius, Madagascar, India and Bangladesh.
The Nahar Group of Companies, Raymond UCO Denim and Eurojersey have also recently signed up.
Meanwhile, the Association for Quality Assurance of Leather Bracelets Manufacturers (AQC), a Swiss-based international association of leather bracelets manufacturers for the watch industry, has announced that it will join ZDHC as an associate.
