The industry leading MICAM show is set to journey to the Far East this year. According to organisers Assocalzaturifici. The Milan-based show will head onto the road this week, taking in stops at Singapore (24 July) and ending in Kuala Lumpur (25 July).
The idea behind the roadshow is to promote MICAM abroad through a series of preview teaser events. The initiative was cooked up in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency-ICE to boost the image of the Milan-based trade fair abroad.
“The pondered choice we made in promoting the excellence of MICAM in the ASEAN countries enables us to play a leading role in an area with an enormous potential for growth”, said Annarita Pilotti, Chair of Assocalzaturifici, the Italian Footwear Association. “In 2017, Italy exported more than 650,000 pairs of shoes to Southeast Asian countries for a total value of €66.3m, despite a slight 4% drop in quantity and 7.5% in value compared with the previous year.”
The next Milan-based MICAM runs 16-19 September 2018.
