Lay-offs at Tasman
New Zealand producer, Tasman Tanning has had to let go 17 staff due to market conditions from Covid-19. They are a major national producer of finished leather, with about 240 staff and majority of production is exported. CEO Neville Dyer said their customers are all impacted, some worse than others, and there has been a vast reduction in demand. Those who lost their jobs finished last week , after an internal consultation process.
