Supplier DLX Industries, Inc. has acquired the assets of Artcraft Leathergoods, including the Leathermark Accessories brand. The announcement was made by DLX Industries president Mark Stewart, CAS, and Artcraft Leathergoods president Bernard Kandler.
"Artcraft and DLX had been in discussions over the last few months and the sale of Artcraft to DLX was the culmination of those discussions," said Kandler. "Mark and I shared the common belief that moving forward together would service the Artcraft client base more effectively. Ultimately our distributors will be quite well served."
Stewart added, "Artcraft Leathergoods and the Leathermark brand have a successful 63-year history in the manufacture of leathergoods. We are extremely excited to add Artcraft to the DLX family of products. This acquisition demonstrates our faith and commitment to both domestic manufacturing and the promotional products supplier/distributor network."
Brooklyn-based Artcraft’s manufacturing, product development and customer service have relocated to DLX’s 80,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility, also in Brooklyn and Bernard Kandler will stay on as special consultant to DLX.
"We anticipate an extremely smooth transition as DLX has manufactured and administered a large segment of Artcraft’s existing product line over the past several months," says Stewart. "Our lines overlap in some areas; in others, we’ll be able to offer a larger spectrum of products. In both cases, we anticipate significant growth opportunities."
