New specifications constantly require new adjustment and innovation, therefore new products, techniques and application systems will be presented for wet-end and finishing solutions.

Clariant continues to use cutting-edge technology to provide chemicals that meet today’s requirements for ecological, innovative and aesthetically pleasing leathers, while giving the tanner maximum added value and process simplicity. These include: chrome-free leather, using the Granofin F-60 re-tanning system in synergy with retanning products such as Tanicor SCU, Tergotan PMB, Tanicor APF and Derminol SJB. The result is a remarkably even, tight grain, as the market demands. Good results are achieved on automotive chrome-free leathers as well as vegetable-tanned leathers for footwear and leathergoods.

Clariant as a market leader in specialty chemicals and upgrading technologies, can offer complete made-to-measure solutions that pay off. Finishing techniques for upgrading using products such as Melio Aquabase, Melio Grounds systems show solutions for low-grade raw materials.

A brand new development especially for soft leathers for furniture or shoe upper nappas is the topcoat system based on Aqualen Top DC-2050 (dull) and Aqualen Top GC-2051 (gloss). The well-established Supronil HK-range is extended by three new fashionable shades.
Other newly developed products include: Melio Wax PO-408 – a very effective pull-up wax for conventional and water-resistant pull-up leathers, Aqualen Top 81 – for highly resistant topcoats, Melio Aquabase RN-03 and Melio Aquabase RN-04 – strong filling products for pre-bases, Melio Ground UP – high filling and sealing pre-base that maintains the crust’s softness.
