It will bring together tanners, footwear and other leathergoods manufacturers, equipment and technology, chemicals, machinery, components and accessories suppliers plus manpower training institutions and trade promotion organisations. African companies and organisations are expected to constitute the largest attendance.
The fair is designed to promote the African leather industry and to enable it to create an interface with partners within the continent and around the world. It will also offer the opportunity for business people in the industry to meet and to talk face to face and get immediate feedback.
Proposed side events will consist of buyers/sellers meeting, investment forum and a Pan-African competitiveness forum. The fair is being organised by the Ethiopian Leather Industries Association (ELIA) with co-organisers: the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (MoTi), Unido, USAID and the World Bank.
