New president for CEC-Fecur

During the agm of the Spanish Confederation of Tanners, Jaime Alvira was elected president of CEC-Fecur, a position that also entails the presidency of Acexpiel. Alvira takes over the seat of Jacinto Codina, who held the position from June 2002. Jaime Alvira, ceo of the Colomer Group (Barcelona) is a member of CEC-Fecur's committee and of Cotance (the European Confederation of Tanners). Recently Alvira was also named president of the Unió d'Ado-badors de Catalunya (Catalonia union of tanners). During his inaugural speech, Alvira highlighted his wish to continue promoting issues of importance for the organisation, such as the improvement of raw materials, environmental issues, as well as encouraging a greater cooperation with organisations such as AIICA (Catalonia) and INESCOP (Valencia). During the assembly, the attendees commemorated the 25th Anniversary of CEC, which recently changed its denomination to CEC-Fecur and the committee presented a commemorative publication of two documents: an economic study of the evolution of the sector during the past 25 years, emphasising the last decade, together with memoirs highlighting the different social activities of the entity.
