LVMH acquire Les Tanneries Roux

Luxury fashion group LVMH, have acquired the French tannery, Les Tanneries Roux who manufacture high-end calfskin leathers. The tannery has been family owned and is the second tannery acquired by LVMH.


Founded in 1803 and based in Romans-sur-Isere, Les Tanneries Roux makes quality leather products. These leathers are carefully produced by its highly trained, successful and motivated teams supported by the business' efficient organisational structure.

Les Tanneries Roux have supplied luxury houses such as Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Loewe, Celine and Moynat over the last twenty years. Les Tanneries Roux specialise in smooth and supple calfskin leathers suitable for high-end leather goods products.

Jean-Claude Ricomard will remain Chairman of the company and will ensure that the company's successful growth strategy will continue.

This acquisition reflects LVMH's strategy to develop its expertise as already demonstrated by the creation of 'Les tanneries de la Comete' in 2009 and by their recent investment in the crocodile leather tannery Heng Long in October, 2011.
