Lineapelle busier this year
14 October 2010The Lineapelle exhibition which takes place at the Bologna Fiera closed on October 14 with most stating that visitor numbers were up compared with last year. The show got off to a slow start on October 12 and all but a few stands were relatively quiet. Once again the Italian tanners highlighted their next seasons' collection on stands which really stood out compared with most industry trade shows.
The show definately picked up on the second day (October 13) and by the early afternoon most of the popular stands were very busy, particularly from the larger Italian tanning groups. Halls 16, 18, 19 and 20 were particularly popular.
Lineapelle hosted 1084 exhibitors of which 749 were Italian and 335 were from overseas. Around 50% of the exhibitors were tanners (553) covering five halls of the Bologna Fiera exhibtion centre.
The trend selection area featured leathers for the autumn/winter 2011-12 season and was, as usual, very popular with stylists, designers and buyers. As with all other recent trend themes the leathers on show featured lots of natural colours such as greens, whites and browns. There were many leathers that featured very natural full grain and lightly pigmented or finished.
As well as improved visitor numbers many tanners, particularly from Europe were pleased that raw material prices had eased of late. According to some sources prices remained stable over the duration of the fair.
