Jan Niehof retires

Jan Niehof, Stahl International's vice president engineering and capital planning, retired at the end of December 2002. For more than 34 years Jan has been a member of Stahl's management team with responsibilities covering maintenance, engineering and capital planning for manufacturing facilities, applications laboratories and warehousing around the world. He has made a major contribution to the development of Stahl's manufacturing and engineering strategy and all of the most modern plants have been built under his supervision and in doing so has made a constructive and invaluable contribution to Stahl's overall management. Jan's most important recent project was the supervision of the construction and commissioning of Stahl India's new factory at Ranipet, near Chennai. Since then he has overseen the building of the new technical applications laboratory in Portão, Brazil, and major extensions to Stahl de Mexico's plant in Toluca, Mexico. His dedication, diligence, persistence and professional skills have been widely admired along with his friendship which will always be remembered by his colleagues all over the world. Willi Vaskovich, president and CEO of the Stahl Group says: 'We are sad to lose Jan to retirement but agree that it is well deserved. We wish him many years of good health and happiness with his family, his friends and his hobbies.'
