Irish foreign trade in 2008

Ireland's Central Statistical Office reports that Ireland exported raw hides and skins worth E69.3 million in 2008, compared with E93.8 million in the same period in 2007. Irish imports of the same types of commodities in 2008 were worth E900,000, as against E2.2 million in 2007.


Ireland also exported leather and leather products worth E20.8 million in 2008, as against E37.8 million in 2007. Imports of the same types of commodities in 2008 were worth E16.1 million, as against E20.5 million the previous year.

125,300 cattle of a total carcase weight of 40,500 tonnes were slaughtered in Ireland in February, compared with 134,500 cattle of a total carcase weight of 44,000 tonnes in February 2008.
