ILM Leathergoods fair has mixed results

3 February 2003

After three days, the International Leather Goods Fair ILM Essentials closed its doors in Offenbach on 210 exhibitors from 15 countries with their current collections of leathergoods, bags and travel articles. While on the one hand the suppliers of travel articles and young outdoor goods were definitely content with the results of the fair, the date was less satisfying for exhibitors of other product lines. The overall weak sales situation in the leathergoods trade, which closed 2002 with a minus of 11-12%, has left inventories high and depressed the mood for ordering. Just under 4,000 trade visitors from home and abroad were represented in Offenbach, which did not fully reach the numbers of the last spring date. While the number of foreign visitors remained at the same level as last year or more than 27% the total, local visitors fell by about 5% compared with of last year. New bag fashion autumn/winter 2003/2004 will be presented at the ILM Winter Styles from March 29--31, 2003. E-Mail: info@messe-offenbach.de; Internet: [http://www.messe-offenbach.de]
