Hungarian leather production drops

Hungary's Central Statistical Office reports that the production of leather and leather products in Hungary in 2002 was 8.8% lower than in the previous year. Production in December 2002 was 14.3% lower year-on-year. Hungarian leather and leather products manufacturers' sales in 2002 were 8.7% lower than in 2001, with sales on the domestic Hungarian market 10.7% lower year-on-year and on export markets 7.9% lower.
