Feltre 'Transfer' the load

11 January 2001

Italian machinery specialists, Feltre, were highlighting their automatic hide and skin transport system, Transfer, during Tanning Tech. The system of rubber conveyors may be automatically adjusted up and down, rotate through 360° and can be adjusted to different angles when in use between tannery machinery operations. The idea behind Feltre's transport system is to link tannery operations together throughout the process to save time and labour costs. The conveyors are available in rubber for wet-blue and finished leather or stainless conveyors can be fitted when transporting hides or skins in the raw or limed state. Transfer allows packs of leather to be transported around corners or up and down slopes within a tannery and the sizes can be tailor-made to a tanners' specific end-use application. The Transfer conveyor can also move forwards and backwards between machine operations to maximise production line manufacturing of leather.
