DyStar - one year on

4 February 2011

Leather chemical makers, DyStar are celebrating one year of operation under their new owners, Kiri Dyes & Chemicals and the Lonsen Group it was announced on February 4. ‘It has been a year of tremendous hard work for all the company as we build upon our strengths to drive the company into sustainable profitability,’ says DyStar CEO Steve Barron. ‘In our first year we overachieved the operational plans that we had made and are now moving ahead with our next targets.’

During the year the company has proceeded with its reorganisation plans and established its Headquarters in Singapore. The acquisition of DyStar LP in the USA gave the company direct presence in every major textile market.

Inventories have been built significantly in order to give a better service level to customers.

‘Looking back, I can say that the year was a success. Many customers came back to DyStar over the year and the retailers and brands with whom we work so closely have also increased their business and connections with us. I take this as a clear sign that DyStar’s brand values and focus on ecology and the environment are important in our business sector’, says Barron.

The next 12 months will be just as important as the last. DyStar will be bringing new products to the market in both chemicals and dyes and the company will open a new office in Bangladesh to work with the growing textile market there.
