Automotive upholstery specialist DK Leather Corp have set up a 60,000sq ft warehouse and installation facility in the Netherlands. Operations began last month and there is sufficient installation capacity to fit leather seats into 60 cars per day. Executive director Chan Yew Chong stated 'We have allocated US$2,651,000 working capital for this new facility which will enable us to serve Citroen, Ford, Kia, Mazda, Peugeot, Saab, and Seat vehicles in the Netherlands and Belgium.' The facility was established due to the rising importance of exports to the Netherlands, which had generated US$7,422,800 revenue for the group in the year to March 2005. This is a significant increase on the US$1,325,500 exports achieved in the previous year. 'Currently, the Netherlands generates 25% of the group's revenue, while other parts of Europe contribute another 2%,' said Yew Chong.
