Clariant sustainability and performance for Guangzhou fair

25 April 2012

Functionality, productivity and environment-focused products and systems, designed to support sustainability and performance in China’s leather and footwear sectors, will be central to Clariant’s eye-catching presence at the 22nd Shoes & Leather Guangzhou exhibition (Booth 0110, Hall 11.2, May 30 – June 1, 2012).

Tanners, finishers, designers and brand owners will experience the ground-breaking innovations and support, which together are setting Clariant apart as a leading supplier for industry, from beamhouse to finishing. Under the motto ‘Sense the Difference’, highlights at this year's event include:

Clariant's industry innovation EasyWhite Tan provides an environmentally compatible, safe and simplified tanning process that will have major benefits for tanners supplying almost every sector, from automotive leather to footwear. This technology has been developed using Clariant's Granofin Easy F-90 Liquid, an organic compound that is not based on chrome, phenols or aldehydes. It removes the need to add salt during the tanning process as well as reducing the number of stages in the tanning process itself.

New high gloss aqueous patent top coat Aqualen Top APT is recognised as a breakthrough in water-based finishing systems replacing solvent-based topcoats. It reinforces Clariant's on-going focus on eliminating and/or strongly reducing solvents, combined with the finest aesthetics and high performance.

Wet-end

A highlight from Clariant's wet end range is the new waterproofing agent Dermaphob WA-71, specially developed for high-performance water repellent shoe uppers. The product is highly effective, even with very low application levels.

Inspiring fashion

With the launch of their Moments of Trends Leather collection, Clariant invites its Chinese industry partners on an inspiring journey to the latest leather fashions from Italy and beyond. From brilliant aniline leathers to stylish smooth matt finishes, from fashionable cracks to innovative magnetic effects, the collection covers the colors, looks and feels from the latest trendsetting ideas.

Clariant will also be presenting their new Global Color Card - developed in close cooperation with Modeurop, the Fashion Pool at DSI (Das Schuhinstitut) - as well as its leather trend booklet Fashion Up!, in preparation for spring-summer 2013.
