BLC global market study

2 July 2003

To address this need for market intelligence, the BLC intends to conduct an extensive market study of the global leather industry. This study will be available on a strictly confidential basis to a selected number of businesses. Interested parties should register their interest in this study by July 18, 2003. Once sufficient founder partners have been secured, the study will not be available to others for a period of 18 months from the publication date. The shape of the international leather industry is changing on an almost daily basis to meet the needs of leather users, retailers and consumers. It could be argued that the 21st century has already seen some of the most significant changes to the industry with the continued demise of leather manufacturing in the developed world and the increasing prominence of production in the Far East. To adapt to this continuously changing and challenging business environment, the management teams of tanneries, product manufacturers and retailers must have the most up to date market intelligence. With this information, decision-makers can shape strategies to meet and anticipate future challenges, ensuring the long and short-term future for their businesses.
