Astley New Zealand join Lowe group

Astley Leathers Ltd have been bought by Lowe Corporation who already own Colyer Watson semi processing and fellmongering activities. They bought the Colyer group from Mair around 6-7 years ago when Mair were divesting their interests and at the same time Astley were bought by managing director Nigel Dobson and his partners. Astley are 118 years' old and have been renamed Astleys 2005 Ltd. They specialise in vegetable leathers for equestrian, belt, holsters and leathergoods purposes. Originally the Mair Group owned Colyer Watson Fellmongery, Southern Cross and W Sutherland under the Colyer Watson umbrella plus Napier Tanning and Napier Fellmongery, in addition to Astley. Apart from Astley, all the other companies were sold to the Lowe Corporation.
