Appointments at DuPont

DuPont Chemical Solutions Enterprise (DCSE) have appointed additional technical support to the DuPont global leather surface protection team with resources in the European and Asia-Pacific regions. Two new leather technicians, Stefanie Legrand and Aurelie Mittaine, join the staff at the global technology centre in Mantes, France, which opened last year. The technical team will focus on transferring the extensive DuPont fluorochemistry knowledge to new technologies for the leather industry. Tency Du will serve as technical service manager for leather protector in Asia, helping to establish a DuPont Teflon licensee network in the region's tanneries. Du brings extensive knowledge in leather technology from both her educational background and business training. She will work closely with partner, Jintex Group, in Greater China. Other DuPont regional partners around the globe include Sommer in Italy, Greece, Austria, Finland, Slovenia and South Africa; CRESA in Spain and Portugal; and Atlas in North and South America. These companies will serve as exclusive distributors for DuPont leather surface protection solutions and provide technical support to Teflon licensed tanneries. A series of travelling demonstration shows will be held throughout 2004 with these distributors and DuPont to increase awareness of the new technologies that DuPont are bringing to the leather industries. Among these developments is the recent availability of Teflon leather protector for washable leather. This is part of the on-going commitment from DuPont to help lead the leather industry in developing innovative offerings for leather in the apparel, furnishing, automotive and accessories markets', said Jeroen Jacobs, global market leader for DuPont Teflon leather protector.
