Another Turkish fair

15 July 2003

Ezgi Ajans, who organise International Leather Days (ILD) in Istanbul, quoted their stand prices in euros but as the euro rises, some exhibitors, who had booked stands for the next edition, January 8-10, 2004, expressed alarm at escalating prices. To alleviate the situation, Ezgi offered to reduce the cost but despite this some Turkish leather associations have now formed a breakaway group and plan to hold their own fair at a different venue just a few days later.. Ezgi have sold over two-thirds of allotted space for ILD, and the Golden Horn Natural Leather Fair, to run concurrently with ILD, has signed contracts so far with 130 participants. The rival fair, the Istanbul Leather Fair, is being held at the CNR Expocentr from January 15-17, 2004. It is being organised by Türkel Fair Org Inc, RDF Fair Organization and the Turkey Leather Foundation.
