Angus ChemicaL Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company, and Dow Biocides, a business unit of Dow Chemical International Pvt Limited (Dow India), will be introducing a broad selection of chemicals for leather manufacturing applications to the Indian market at the India International Leather Fair (IILF), January 31 - February 3, 2007. The portfolio includes problem-solving biocides, synthetic tanning and cross-linking agents that impart superior functionality when formulating high quality leather tanning products. Marketed under the Zoldine name, the biocides range includes free-of-chrome tanning agents that improve chrome uptake, offer high shrinkage temperature, increase fixation of vegetable tannages, and improve penetration of waterproofing agents, among many other benefits. These can be used in wet-end and finishing processes. In addition, Bioban antimicrobial products from Dow Biocides are formaldehyde-free and offer quick-kill performance over a wide pH range. They are effective against bacteria and fungus at various stages of production including in-process control (soaking liquors etc), in-can preservation and temporary protection of finished leather articles. They can address many challenges experienced when formulating leather chemicals, helping to simplify the overall formulation process and provide cost-saving benefits. In addition, the businesses are equipped with outstanding regulatory and market expertise to help customers streamline the product development cycle and regulatory compliance process. Owing to differing regulatory requirements around the world, not all products are available in all geographical locations. Up to date registration information can be obtained by calling the Dow Customer Information Group in the regions. For India: +91 22 6797 8500 (phone) +91 22 2524 6391 (fax).
