The Singapore fashion week will be held from 17-23 October 2005. As part of the event, a three-day seminar on 18-20 October will include various aspects of business, fashion and technology and has been designed for manufacturers, designers, buyers, industry players and visitors in the textile and fashion industries.

The first day of the seminar will focus on business and international trade-related issues. Thomas Travis, managing partner of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg PA, a leading international trade and customs law firm, will analyse and review apparel sourcing in the textile industry. Other speakers will be from Cotton Incorporated and the International Trade Centre (UNCTAD/WTO).

The second day will present the latest fashion trends and directions. Catriona Macnab from WGSN will examine global street trends, inspirational retail and design hotspots. Other speakers from Pantone, PIC Solution and Cotton Inc will cover various perspectives of the fashion industry.

The final day will feature highlights if AsiaFutureTex organised by Cientifica – a European-based company specialising in nanotechnology.
