Romania’s National Statistics Institute reports that there were 2.92 million cattle on farms in Romania on December 1 last year, an increase of 2.2% compared with the number on the same date in 2005. The North-East region, with 679,678 cattle, had the most cattle of any region in Romania on December 1 last year, followed by the North-West region with 501,714.
