Pittards have announced their breakthrough WR100 Cool technology. The new cool leather is based on the mainstream Pittards sports leathers which are water resistant and have properties of dryfastness and softness. In the new WR100 Cool, additional technical properties have been added which reflect out the rays of the sun associated with heat.
This keeps the leather cool to the touch and ensures no additional heat passes through the leather to the wearer. The applications are not simple surface applications but are incorporated into the individual fibres so that they last the lifetime of the leather.
As well as heat protection, the new cool leather incorporates a number of additional benefits including colours that will not degrade in the sun and breathability without perforations which means the leather can also keep a wearer warm in winter without detracting from its protective benefits. The applications work in harmony with other Pittards leather technologies so that the WR100 Cool advantages can be incorporated into specific customer requirements.
Leading Supermoto bike rider Alan Dickens says he is delighted to learn of the new leather. ‘Leathers offer by far the best protection for a number of fast land-based sports’, he said.
‘But while they are great in the British winter, there has been a problem wearing them on hot sunny days. This new Pittards WR100 Cool will be welcomed by sports people across the world.’
