The end of January and the first week of February will see Chennai, India, in the forefront of the leather industry. The India International Leather Fair is traditionally inaugurated in the early evening of the last day of January. The International Leather Fashion Show on February 1 is a very popular event and features the best that India can offer in the way of fashionable clothing, bags and footwear. Not only is the catwalk graced by a large number of attractive models but India has been able to augment their numbers with various beauty queens.
In the run up to the show, on January 28, 2005, Conceria Virginia Chennai held a publicity conference. Last year, at around the same time, the Forward Group of companies headed by Yavar Dhala announced the first Indo-Italian joint venture in leather manufacturing. Conceria Virginia Chennai, are now all set to inaugurate their state-of-the-art leather manufacturing facility in Chennai. Yavar Dhala, managing director, Conceria Virginia Chennai, and Ms Laura Verucci, head-global marketing, Conceria Virginia Chennai, will address the media and talk about their future plans.
