According to Cassol, the factory will generate 120 direct jobs, and further assist the region’s development by taking advantage of the large quantity of bovine leather already processed in the state. The factory will initially produce 20,000 pairs/month of industrial footwear, and significant tax breaks will help the venture get up and running. In the future the company plan to extend the range to include women’s shoes and accessories.
Footwear factory opens in Rondonia
The A Altes footwear factory was inaugurated in Ouro Preto do Oeste, in Rondônia, north western Brazil, by governor Ivo Cassol in May. The undertaking involved an overall investment of 2 million real.
