The current difficult situation in the tanning machinery sector is not simply a moment of economic difficulty but an ongoing structural crisis of the sector. This is the consideration that has pushed Flamar-Tomboni and Rizzi to face the situation openly by re-launching their companies via a joint venture that will bring advantages to both.

The synergy effect will allow them to achieve scales of economy by reducing overheads and where possible direct costs. By improving company results, more resources will be available for research and innovation, in order to satisfy their customers’ need to maintain competitiveness.

In this way it will be possible to optimise services for the international clientele, starting from the assumption that it is completely inappropriate to limit one’s own business to the sale of a single machine, but instead to offer oneself as the supplier of complete systems and plants, and also to be a source that helps find financing loans.

The products offered by Flamar-Tomboni and Rizzi integrate with each other, as they have a single product in common: shaving machines. The two machines will remain fully independent with regards to the customers’ choices; projects, business policy, promotion and the sales network will all follow independent paths.

Through this collaboration agreement, Flamar-Tomboni and Rizzi will also propose themselves as the top companies in expertise in the Italian tanning industry and also as the companies with the best ‘made in Italy’ technology which, unfortunately, is undergoing a fierce attack from international competition, which is often unfair and which bases its own products on copying others. This causes double damage: a reduction in turnover and production of machinery of doubtful quality which are then often confused with the original products.

This commitment, which is not a defence battle, but a further step forward towards complete confirmation of quality products, that are the only ones that can ensure safe and sustainable development in the tanning industry, allows Flamar-Tomboni and Rizzi to look to the future even in these tough times
