Elmo Leather AB have won QS 9000 certification. The move gives them access to automobile giants such as Ford, General Motors and Chrysler who stipulate that their suppliers work to the QS 9000 standard.
During a few intensive days in January 2001 auditors from Det Norske Veritas examined the business and confirmed that Elmo Leather AB met all the about 400 requirements that the QS-9000 standard demands of companies that want to supply the automotive industry.
The company, one of the world’s ten largest manufacturers of exclusive leather for the international furniture and automotive industries, have been ISO 9001 quality-certified for seven years and winning the latest standard takes the process one step further.
