Belarus’ Ministry of Statistics reports that Belarus produced 246 million square decimetres of chrome-tanned leather products in 2006, an increase of 20.1% compared with the previous year, according to the Interfax news agency. Footwear production was 8.4% higher year-on-year at 10.4 million pairs.
