322 companies from 24 different countries will exhibit on an exhibition area that this year is touching on 19,000 m² net. The countries attending are: Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, France, Germany, Japan, Greece, India, Iran, Italy, Holland, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey and the US.
Our partnership with the Ministry for Economic Development and the Italian Trade Agency means official foreign delegations will be attending, more than 150 operators all using the machinery and technology on show from the following countries: Bosnia-Herzegovina, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Morocco, Mexico, Pakistan, Palestine, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Tunisia, Vietnam and Uzbekistan.
This year’s exhibition comes at a very delicate time globally, partly because of protectionist 'warning signs' which are sending less encouraging signals than in the past. The Italian sector of machinery and technology for footwear, leather goods and tanning represents nearly 50% of all the sector’s exports worldwide and, after five years of strong two-figure growth rates, 2018 ended on a par with the previous year. Sales on the domestic market and exports, which represent more than 75% of the sector’s turnover, also remained stable.
"In response to the unusual situations we are experiencing worldwide," says SIMAC TANNING TECH President Gabriella Marchioni Bocca, "the event will focus strongly on presenting systems and technology that can respond to any production need while also meeting eco-sustainability and energy-saving criteria. With this motivation and a commitment to transparency, ASSOMAC, the Association of manufacturers of technology for footwear, leather goods and tanning, developed the “Supplier of Sustainable Technologies” project, of which the Green Label is a tangible and voluntary feature, with third-party certification of the CFP (carbon footprint) of machinery manufactured by a company.”
SIMAC TANNING TECH 2019 will also display new machinery types: for digital leather printing, a fusion with the textile world, 3D printing and incorporation of Industry 4.0, for increasingly interconnected “smart” machinery.
