The Kolkata state government is focussing on the development of infrastructure to garner more investment in their leather sector.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the leather sector will open up loads of employment opportunities in the months to come.
"There have been more than a thousand applications for leather sector expansion, for which around 350 acres of land needs to be allocated. We have already started to identify the necessary land and, at the same time, we have been developing the infrastructure for the water supply and other requisites to fructify quick investment.”
