CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute has developed a new technology called Waterless Chrome Tanning Technology (WLCT), which has been demonstrated in clusters such as Erode, Kanpur and Jalandhar.
A full demonstration of WLCT will take place in CLC from 24-26 October 2016, followed by a workshop on 27th in which the outline and benefits of the technology will be shared with the CLC tanners. The workshop will offer an opportunity to have direct interaction with the inventors. As many as 25 tanners have looked into obtaining a license for the technology.
