Poliser and DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products join forces
Poliser, a division of the Flokser Group, is using DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products’ Susterra 1.3-propanediol (PDO) as a bio-based foundation for its new synthetic leather fabric.
The material is being developed using a polyester polyol-based on PDO succinate, with Susterra being the crossliner, according to DuPont Tate & Lyle. Furthermore, the company says that producing biobased propanediol uses up to 40% less greenhouse gas emissions, and 40% less non-renewable energy, as opposed to petroleum-based glycols.
"The new artificial leather from Flokser is a unique product, combining biobased technology with the highest standards of performance and quality," says Steve Hurff, DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products marketing and sales VP.
