Brazil’s National Statistics Institute reports that 7.26 million cattle were slaughtered in Brazil in the second quarter of this year, 12.5% more than in this year’s first quarter and 12.9% more than in the second quarter of last year. The states of São Paulo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Goiás recorded the highest numbers of slaughtered animals in the second quarter this year.
