The United States Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA FAS) has reported that the United States exported livestock hides and skins worth US$69,000 to Russia in the first half of this year. The figure in the same period last year was US$243,000.
The US imported hides and skins worth US$2.26 million from Russia in the January to June period, against imports worth US$2.32 million in the same period in 2001.
USDA FAS has also reported that the US exported hides and skins worth only US$10,000 to Norway in the first half of this year, compared with US$133,000 in the same period in 2001. First-half US hides and skins imports from Norway were worth US$216,000, compared with US$361,000 last year.
