The tanning group Volpi Giuseppe SpA (Ponte a Egola, Tuscany) have joined a new company: Cuoieria Artigiana. The shareholders are Volpi’s family and Toni’s family.
Cuoieria Artigiana are specialised in leather for horse-riding saddles and, in particular, products for footwear and leathergoods, both in the method of tanning and in the type of leather, camel for example. Cuoieria Artigiana, with headquarters in Ponte a Egola-S Miniato, should close 2002 with a turnover of around €3.5 million and an export ratio of about 70%.
The Volpi Group, led since 1951 by the Volpi family, now totals three trade marks (Volpi Giuseppe, Rocca, Cuoieria Artigiana) and an annual turnover of about e50 million with exports of around 50%.
