Creekstone Farms Premium Beef were planning to reopen the former Future Beef plant in March, initially with 500 workers to replace the original 900. Although the plant has a designed capacity of 1,650 head/day, Creekstone will begin with 1,000.
The new owners are adamant that the local Arkansas City community does not want a tannery in their locality.
