Kyrgyzstan’s National Statistics Committee reports that Kyrgyzstan produced 2.16 million square decimetres of chrome-tanned leather products in the first quarter of this year, as compared with 1.76 million square decimetres in the same period in 2005, according to the Interfax news agency. Production of ‘stiff leather products’ totalled only 75,900 square decimetres, as against 215,800 square decimetres in the first quarter of 2005.
