Bayer Chemicals, a division of Bayer AG, are investing some €400,000 in renovating, modernising and expanding their leather pilot plant in Leverkusen.
The completion of the applications development revamp is scheduled for the last quarter of 2003.
According to Dr Bernhard Wehling, head of the leather business unit, these measures are being introduced so that the increased demands of the customer can be met even more effectively. The best conditions are being created for development work in the field of automotive leather in particular.
‘The new facilities are the ideal foil to our established machine park, ensuring that the tests carried out are even more realistic than before’, says Wehling.
The new equipment includes a modern spraying machine with a high-performance dryer, a toggle dryer with an expanding frame, a state-of-the-art embossing machine and a buffing line with a dust removal machine.
