The ranks of the European Glove Association (EGA) have been swelled with the addition of nine new members during October/November 2003.

The companies are; Dent Accessories (Warminster, UK), Hunor (Pecs, Hungary), Glover (Romania), Tanneries Nouvelles Peschdo (France), Edmins (St Petersburg, Russia), Peschawear (Croydon, UK), Taubert Textile (Freising, Germany), Roeckl Handschuhe (Munich, Germany) and Brandt Lederfabrik (Kokkola, Finland).

‘These latest additions show the extent to which the European Glove Association is becoming recognised as the definitive representative body for the continent’s glove manufacturers and their suppliers’, commented EGA President, Dave Pearce. ‘They are also testament to the efforts being made by the founder members of the organisation to attract new members.

‘With the increasing globalisation of the fashion industry and the growing threat posed by cheap imports from Asia, the need for the European glove industry to unite and speak with a single voice has become imperative. The EGA provides that voice. But we will not be resting on our laurels. If the interests of the industry are to be safeguarded, now more than ever, it is essential for us to go on attracting new members.’
