Research and development is focused on finishing products for upholstery, garment, shoe upper and leathergoods leathers according to fashion and customer requirements and is aimed at always improving quality and novel effects.
In Italy, technical assistance is assured by the presence of test operation units located in all main Italian tannery districts (Montebello, S Croce, Solofra, Turbigo). It is also provided in countries to which customers have moved their production capacity. This is mainly in the Asian markets where the company has been operating since the late eighties. In overseas areas the company say they guarantee their presence through agents and skilled technicians specialised in local requirements.

Technical assistance can help customers with new developments according to the latest fashion requirements. Currently, in S Croce, Vandoni are studying how to obtain a natural effect on buffed leathers finished with waxes. They have been able to obtain very natural results with both matt and glossy effects. Products developed for this purpose are LM Cera Brilante, LM Wax VAN and LM Fondo CE.
