According to France’s trade union body l’Union Francaise des Industries de l’Habillement, the leading source country of imported garments in France for 2005 is China. China has overtaken Italy as the chief source of French garments. This is just more fuel in the intensifying debate over whether duties should be imposed on low-cost imports.
