Colours will relate strongly to the forecast desaturated neutrals of black and white, beige and grey complemented by other warm and cool, strong and pale colours toned down to match in contrast and tone. The light of summer will be shiny and metallic looks, from high polished sheen, through satin, pearl and metallic to give a feeling of sunshine on a delicate and fragile look.
As standards for the products used in making leather today are more demanding than ever before, products manufactured in Chennai by Stahl India are not only fully compliant with current health and safety, and environmental legislation but are also being designed to meet customer demands for the toughest specifications and for high performance in wear.
The products used in the display have been developed in India to meet higher international standards for the modern Indian tanner and shoemaker. Included among these will be new products used in retanning, dyeing, finishing, after care and shoe finishes, showing the possibilities for using Stahl products from wet-blue through to the finished article. Today’s fashions can be made using upgraded low quality raw material. Upgrading is, therefore, a must with high raw material prices and tight margins. Ways of achieving the fashion effect demanded by the next season and the desired appearance and performance will be on show.
Stahl India’s plant in Ranipet will be embarking on a project to expand capacity in several areas in January 2007. Inaugurated in 2000, the manufacturing facility was outstanding in being awarded the world-recognised Oliver Wight MRP2 Class A status only five years later in November 2005. Stahl’s technical staff from all the major leather centres in India will be on hand to guide visitors through the collection and arrange to demonstrate these effects.

High Fashion content will be the focus of the display by Stahl India at the Indian International Leather Fair in Chennai. Finished leathers produced in Stahl India's applications laboratories in Chennai, Kanpur and Kolkata will be based on designs produced in Stahl International's Design Studio in Milan, Italy, and illustrated in Stahl's new seasonal Trend Books, the first of which are a new addition for Stahl's staff in India.
