In comparison, industrial output in Bosnia in February was 1% lower month-on-month and 15.3% lower year-on-year.
The office also reported that 5,914 people were working in Bosnia’s leather and leather products’ industry in January, 2.3% more than in December.
Bosnia and Herzegovina imported leather and leather products worth E3.08 million in January, compared with E3.59 million in the same month in 2008. The country also imported raw hides and skins worth E383,000 in January, as against E979,000 in January 2008.
Bosnia and Herzegovina exported leather and leather products worth E1.4 million in January, as against E1.94 million in the corresponding month last year. Exports of raw hides and skins in January were worth E1.03 million, as against E2.25 million in January 2008.
The average gross monthly wage in the Bosnian leather and leather products’ industry in January was US$341, a decrease of 21.3% compared with December. In comparison, the average gross monthly wage in Bosnia in January was US$832.
There were 225,625 head of cattle in Bosnia in 2008, compared with 225,973 in 2007. Cows and heifers in calf accounted for 172,682 of last year’s total figure. Livestock worth US$104,127 was bought and sold in Bosnia and Herzegovina in January, a decrease of 43.8% compared with the same month in 2008.
