Third phase of European Social and Environmental report started

9 December 2011

Cotance and ETUF:TCL have started the third phase of their ‘Social and Environmental Reporting in the Leather Industry’ initiative. The European social partners in the Leather industry, Cotance and ETUF:TCL represented by their respective Chief Executives, Gustavo Gonzalez-Quijano and Luc Triangle, met on December 6 in Brussels in order to kick-off their EU sponsored project on Social and Environmental Reporting in the European leather sector.

This project is the third phase of a three-phase cycle whereby the EU social partners within the leather industry implement the Framework Agreement on Social and Environmental Reporting first adopted in 2008.

The activities foresee the development of a new set of national reports and the generation of the first cross-European report on the leather industry’s social and green credentials in Europe.

The partners of the European leather industry aim to set new standards for good governance in the global leather industry.

An update of the project will be posted on the dedicated website: http://www.euroleather.com/socialreporting/
