Strebost honoured by the German leather industry

Thomas Strebost, CEO and President of upholstery tanners, Heller Leder has been awarded with a special medal in recognition of his outstanding scientific technical achievements to the leather industry by the German Association of Leather Technologists and Chemists (VGCT - Verein fur Gerberei - Chemie und - Technik).


The award was presented by Professor Michael Stoll, Head of the German research centre, FILK and Dr Thomas Schroer, Head of VGCT during the dinner and social event of the 1st Freiberg 'Leather Days' conference being held April 25-26.

Strebost is also the current President of the German Tanners Association (VDL) and a major shareholder in German tanners, Sudleder.

Strebost was also presented with some leather artwork and special leather belt used in the past by German miners.

During the dinner the VGCT also presented two Promotional Awards to Alexander Dorr and David Pelz. The award is recognition of young talent in the German tanning industry and was given to the recipients following their work at the German Tanning School at Reutlingen in the class of 2011.

The winners of the Promotional Award each received €500.
