Sadesa expands

Sadesa will add to their current production at Sadesa Thailand, the supply of finished leather from Pan Asia Leather, a tannery established in 1993 and located in Kabinburi, Prachinburi province, which is part of the Bangkok Rubber Group. This continues their alliance with the Bangkok Rubber Group, after a successful start in Thailand close on two years ago, and in response to global trends for moving closer to the manufacturer, meet customers' production needs, and reply to ever more demanding delivery schedules. Conveying know-how and management, with the support of a technical transfer plan to this new facility in Thailand, Sadesa will be adding an extra 1.5 million ft² per month, primarily focused on the performance footwear industry in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. Production was due to begin in January 2001, bringing Sadesa's capacity in Asia close to 3 million ft² per month. Sadesa will announce shortly their expansion plans into China, where they will be up and running early in 2001. Once this facility is operational, Sadesa will have a strategic geographical coverage of all the important footwear manufacturing areas in Asia.
